FORT MYERS, Fla. — This weekend kicks off Southwest Florida’s largest and longest running festival, the 82nd annual Edison Festival of Light.

The festivities continue through the next two weeks for all ages.

This Saturday through Sunday, nine different events are planned to take place around the Downtown Fort Myers area.

A few events kicking off this week are the Edison Garden Festival, Food Trucks & Craft Beer, and the 2020 Junior Parade.

Thursday morning, Fox 4 featured some of the fun festivities coming to the area.

Organizers officially announced that Super Bowl Champion and Fort Myers native, Sammy Watkins, will be a grand marshal in the festival parade on Feb. 15.

Around 160 units are registered in the parade, including more than 150 traditional Mexican cultural dancers.
