Tampa toddler dies after being left inside hot car for hours

TAMPA, Fla. -- A 1-year-old girl has died after being left inside a hot car in Tampa for hours Monday night.

The Tampa Police Department responded to a call of a non-breather a little before 6:30 p.m. in the 9400 block of North 19th Street. Upon arrival, they found an unconscious girl inside the car.

The toddler, who was not breathing, was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

According to TPD, the girl was left inside her family's car Monday morning. Her parents called 911 after they found her inside the car.

The case remains under investigation, TPD said.
