Temporary outdoor seating expansion for Marco Island restaurants

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — Restaurants on Marco Island are able to expand their outdoor dining, temporarily.

This is to make sure there is enough space between tables in order to comply with social distancing guidelines.

But the city has some rules these restaurants have to follow.

They can use up to four parking spaces, but there has to be a concrete barrier separating the seating area from where vehicles park.

Restaurants can not expand outdoor seating in front of neighboring businesses unless they have written permission.

Restaurants also have to meet all city, county, and state requirements for reopening.
