MATLACHA, Fla. — With the help of a local bartender, Christmas is coming early for more than 200 boys and girls on Pine Island and Matlacha.
Craig Hoemke at Yucatan Waterfront Bar and Grill is spreading holiday cheer by turning tips into toys.
In this morning's segment, Hoemke explains how the community helped him raise $3,700 worth of gifts for local families.
The local service group, Pine Island FISH, picked up the donations from Yucatan on Wednesday.
They say it will help them give Christmas to more than 220 local kids who live on the islands.
