Long-running farmers market returns to Fort Myers after coronavirus closures in SWFL

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A long-running tradition is returning to downtown Fort Myers, Thursday morning.

The River District Farmers Market is resuming operations every Thursday after closing due to the coronavirus lockdowns.

For opening day, more than 20 vendors and food trucks plan to set up under the bridge at Centennial Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rain or shine, organizers say the market will display a fun variety of popular local foods and products for the community to enjoy.

For opening day, Dynasty Guacamole plans to give away free guacamole to the first 50 customers.

Early bird shoppers can shop produce from some select vendors around 8 a.m.
