Deputies respond to shooting that forced closure of I-75 in Fort Myers

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies are currently investigating a shooting that happened around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The shooting had resulted in the closure of I-75 southbound between Alico Road and Corkscrew Road. Deputies were forced to redirect traffic onto Ben Hill Griffen Parkway and Three Oaks Parkway.

All lanes of the interstate were re-opened by 2:30pm Sunday. We're still working to find out exactly what happened, and we'll update when we learn more.
