HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) - Authorities in South Florida arrested a woman on suspicion of swiping a luxury watch and diamond jewelry valued at more than $40,000 from a sleeping man in a hotel room.
The Sun Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/1RbiDN9) Victoria Aughenbaugh was free on bond following her Wednesday arrest.
Broward County detectives said Aughenbaugh met a man at a nightclub, then went to his hotel. When the man woke, Aughenbaugh was gone - and so was the man's $20,000 Presidential Rolex, $15,000 two-carat diamond ring, $5,000 gold bracelet with his last name set in diamonds, Gucci wallet and $200 cash.
It's unclear if Aughenbaugh has retained an attorney.
Since spring of 2013, South Florida law enforcement officials have chalked up dozens of cases of club-hopping femme fatales who seduce and rob intoxicated Rolex-wearing men.
