Vandals strike Trump art display at Matlacha gallery again

This is the third time Leoma Lovegrove says her art gallery has been targeted for supporting Donald Trump.

"I've been supporting him since the very beginning," Lovegrove said. "I even bought signs before they were available to the public."

While her passion for the newly elected president may resonate with some people, others have painted a clear picture of their disdain for the business mogul.

"The sheriff's called me at 3 in the morning and said you've been vandalized again," she said.

Lovegrove says whoever is responsible for defacing her art and yard signs showing support for Donald Trump has been caught on camera by the security system outside her studio.

"They came in and wrote stuff with black paint and wrote nasty words on the other side. It's simply un-American. That's simply just not the way to do things," she said.. "I have a right to show support for the candidate of my choice."

Lovegrove says deputies believe the persons responsible for the vandalism are young kids but haven't released much information.

Now that Donald Trump is headed to the White House, Four In Your Corner asked if Lovegrove feared any more vandalism at her gallery.

"No, we're taking the signs today," she said. "We're focusing on celebrating Trump's victory now. We've been serving champagne all day."

If you have any information about the vandalism you're asked to call the Lee County Sheriff's Office (239) 477-1000.
