Students and families from one Collier County school got a special deliver Saturday just in time for the holidays.
Volunteers and members of the Immokalee community gathered at the Immokalee Regional Airport helping a team from the local fire department unload a historic Douglas DC-3 airplane.
The airplane was full of frozen turkeys and staple items for more than two hundred families. They were given to more than 200 families chosen by The Redlands Christian Migrant Association.
Each family received a bag with the necessary items to help students and families of Immokalee Community School enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
Several Fort Lauderdale-based businesses contributed to the event.
