LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Two animal trappers are recovering in the hospital after an incident with an alligator in an Estero community Friday.
According to Estero Fire, the trappers were called to the Wildcat Run community in Estero shortly after 11 a.m. Friday to trap an alligator estimated to be 8-10 feet long.
While they were trying to subdue the reptile, one trapper was bitten on the hand and another suffered a hand laceration.
They were both taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The alligator's fate was unclear.
