BOKEELIA, Fla. - Four In Your Corner is taking a ride with Capt. Jeff Nelson to see how much red tide is impacting waterways in the area.

Water releases from Lake Okeechobee over the past two months have severely affected beaches and canals.

In the past week, thousands of dead fish have been washing up on Southwest Florida shores including manatees, sea turtles, sharks, and various small fish.

There's been a heavy red tide presence causing fish kills on several beaches, including Boca Grande and parts of Pine Island.

Capt. Jeff is giving us a close-up look on the devastating impact red tide has on sea life.
