CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- Commissioners in Charlotte County are working to help local business owners that may need help during this water crisis in Southwest Florida.
The county has extended its local state of emergency declaration for another week.
The declaration enables business owners in Charlotte County who have been economically impacted by the red tide outbreak to apply for disaster loans.

The emergency declaration in Charlotte County has been in effect since August 14th.
