LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Thousands of people are still monitoring the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam for a glimpse of the latest additions to the family of Harriet and M15. Her second eaglet hatched Wednesday night at 10:39.
Harriet laid the first egg on December 19th and was followed by a second egg on December 22nd.
The first eaglet, named E7, hatched at 7:23am Tuesday, followed soon by eaglet E8.
Both Harriet and M15 have been taking turns taking care of the new hatchlings at their nest off Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers, which last year was the site of some eagle drama. Harriet's previous mate Ozzie was taken to a rehab facility for broken bones, and later returned to find M15 joining her at the nest.
Ozzie later died from injuries sustained in clashes with M15.
