CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- The tradition of giving in Cape Coral continued this weekend.
This boat ran aground on purpose at the Walmart on Del Prado Saturday and Sunday.
The Cape Coral Police Department took donations for its annual "Fill the Boat" campaign. People also got to try on gear and tour a SWAT car while getting to know local officers.
Fill the Boat started with the Coast Guard 10 years ago, and organizers say the need and donations get bigger every year. "The public has always responded well to this. We have people who look forward to giving to us every year, so it's been a good thing," said MCPL Kelvin Thompkins of the Cape Coral Police.
