PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Florida Panhandle teenager was injured when a train hit her as she and a friend were taking pictures near the tracks.
Pensacola police tell local media outlets that 18-year-old Julia Laureano was posing near the tracks Thursday so her friend could get a picture of her with the oncoming train in the background. But the train struck Laureano and dragged her for several feet.
Officials say the train was going about 40 mph with it hit Laureano. She was being treated Friday at a local hospital.
