Americans spent 14.3 billion dollars during Small Business Saturday last year. The nationwide celebration of small businesses heads into its 6th year.
"A lot of people, they don't realize there is all of this going on in their community,” said Cricket Craig. Craig has owned her own jewlery company for 4 years.
"I just enjoy seeing people wear my jewelry."
She was among 60 vendors at a small business expo held at Six Bends Harley Davidson. Elias Scioli brought his mobile dessert truck to the expo
"We've got fresh fruit smoothies,” said Scioli who started his business a few weeks ago.
Other vendors say they’re worried Thanksgiving night deals may dissaude shoppers from coming out on Saturday, but Craig remains hopeful.
"There are still enough people in the community that are looking for something unique, and hand made, that is not mass produced."
SWFL helped put on Saturday’s event and some of the proceeds will go to 8 local charities.
