FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police were investigating reports of a suspicious package containing an unidentified substance in Fort Myers Wednesday.
According to Fort Myers Police, on Wednesday at 11:41 a.m., officers responded to Thyssen Krupp Elevator, located at 2829 Cargo Street, in reference to an employee who received a suspicious package.
Responding officers set up a perimeter and contained the suspicious package, which contains an unidentified substance.
Fort Myers Fire Department's HAZMAT Team was sent for further investigation. The package has since been deemed safe and the scene is now clear.
Cargo Street between Work Drive and Katanga Court had been shutdown during the investigation.
