Suspects in truck sought for trying to steal ATM at bank

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Detectives are looking for help identifying three men they say tried to steal an entire ATM early Tuesday morning.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, a blue truck pulled up to the Bank of America on Mathew Drive at Summerlin Road around 1:30 a.m.

Two men were lying flat in the bed of the truck on arrival at the bank's drive-up ATM.  The men jumped out with a chain and connected the ATM to the rear of the truck, then unsuccessfully tried to pull the ATM away.

The blue Ford Ranger used during the attempted theft has been recovered.

The Fort Myers Police Department is asking anyone with information about the attempted theft or if you know anyone matching the description of the suspects in the attached photographs to please contact the police department immediately.
