FORT MYERS, Fla. - A major Southwest Florida road was shut down over 13 hours while Lee County Sheriff's Office investigated and now people want to know why.
Deputies are not giving us much information regarding the crash investigation or why Summerlin Road was closed for so many hours. Deputies say the investigation is centering around a car crash near Pine Manor that happened around 8:45 Monday night. LCSO deputies diverted traffic at the onset of the call and handled the area as a crime scene.
We reached out to a spokesperson for Lee County Sheriff's Office who said they are not releasing any information at this time. Summerlin Road and the surrounding area was completely shut down for approximately 13 hours.
The road re-opened around 1:30 pm Tuesday.
