School bus crash in Englewood injures 7 students

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. (AP) - A school bus crash has sent seven students and a bus driver to the hospital.

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune (http://bit.ly/1UZVLzr ) reports the accident occurred Monday morning in Englewood when the school bus was rear-ended by a pickup truck, which was then rear-ended by another pickup truck.

School district spokeswoman Dee Hawkins-Garland says there were 22 children on the bus and that those transported to the hospital received "very, very minor injuries."

The two pickup drivers were also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Citing the Florida Highway Patrol, the newspaper reports that 18-year-old Brandon Blumberg, the driver of the first pickup, is facing careless driving charges in connection with the crash.
