Winn-Dixie shoppers can help veterans and service members on July 4.
Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of Winn-Dixie, said Tuesday in a news release that all profits generated at its grocery stores will be donated to help those who serve our country.
The company said "every cent of every dollar of profit" will help the “Hope For The Warriors ,” a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.
“Southeastern Grocers operates in states with some of the highest active-duty military populations in the United States. We are committed to the communities we serve and we believe we all have a responsibility to contribute to the lives of those who have sacrificed for the nation,” continued Ian McLeod, the president and CEO of Southeastern Grocers.
Customers donate simply by shopping on July 4 at Winn-Dixie stores.
With every donation, customers will also receive a dedication card to write messages that will be displayed on a Wall of Honor in every store.
This is the second year of the Independence Day campaign, which in 2015 raised $3 million.
