VENICE, Fla. -- While crowds flock to the beach this Memorial Day, one Florida gator hit the pool instead.
Deputy Lori Clark of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office was called to a Venice home in the Plantation golf & Country Club on Monday and arrived to find a 7-8 foot gator lounging in the bottom of a swimming pool.
Florida Fish and Wildlife and a local trapper were called to capture the gator and relocate it to a proper location.
Nobody was injured by the reptile.
