MIAMI, Fla. -- Strong thunderstorms in Miami on Saturday created a dangerous situation as patio furniture was sent airborne from high-rises along the waterfront.
Two videos posted online Saturday captured the scene as chairs, chaise lounges, and other debris was sucked off residential balconies and flung onto Biscayne Boulevard near downtown Miami.
Fortunately no injuries were reported from the flying debris.
However, the National Weather Service tweeted Monday that these videos show why you should secure balcony furniture when a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is issued.
