SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. -- A Venice woman is facing child neglect and drug charges after she reportedly fell asleep in a car with a child in the back seat.

30-year-old Kathryn Miller has been charged with Child Neglect, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Narcotics Equipment.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, employees at the Wawa store on Jacaranda Boulevard just off Interstate 75 saw Miller asleep in her car, which was parked at a gas pump.

Before authorities arrived, Miller woke up and entered the store, where she was approached by arriving deputies.  She admitted leaving the 1-year-old in the car.  Deputies spotted marijuana in the car and arrested her.
