ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A teenage student is recovering in a hospital after lighting struck a nearby tree at an Orlando school during lunchtime.
Orlando Fire Department spokeswoman Ashley Papagni said in a statement that the 14-year-old student was shocked Tuesday afternoon at The First Academy while standing in a parking lot near the tree.
Officials say the unidentified teenager was conscious when paramedics arrived. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
