APOPKA, Fla. (AP) - An Orange County teacher is facing charges after authorities say she exchanged more than 100,000 inappropriate messages with a female student.

Local news agencies report that 44-year-old Alyson London was arrested Friday on multiple charges including solicitation to commit sexual battery, failure to report child abuse as a mandatory reporter and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police say London, a physical education teacher at Apopka Memorial Middle School, began messaging the 14-year-old student last year using SnapChat and Kik and the relationship grew.

Police discovered London exchanged roughly 129,000 text messages with the student, most of which were sexually explicit in nature. Investigators say some of the messages included discussions about sex, rape, drugs and abuse.

Authorities say both the student and London denied having a sexual relationship.
