PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers have shut down the Sunshine Skyway bridge across the mouth of Tampa Bay due to high winds and storms in the area.
The closure was announced around noon Friday.
A line of storms is moving across this state this afternoon, bringing potentially severe weather to the state.
Florida Highway Patrol usually closes the 180-foot high bridge when winds hit 45 miles per hour.
