SIESTA KEY, Fla. (AP) - Residents of a popular beach community that was recently named the best beach in the United States are concerned about an MTV reality show filmed on the island.
On July 3, the network's official show account Tweeted the message: "get ready for the summer of a lifetime in #SiestaKey."
The 15-second trailer for the docudrama is filmed in gauzy, sunset hues and shows a couple kissing, then a mansion on the water.
The Herald-Tribune reports the show premieres July 31. Locals told the paper they're worried that the show will add to traffic problems and tarnish the area's reputation, as was the case with MTV's hugely popular reality show "Jersey Shore."
In May, Siesta Beach was named the No. 1 beach by coastal expert Stephen "Dr. Beach" Leatherman.
