WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — West Palm Beach police said Friday night that a missing and endangered 8-month-old baby was found safe in Broward County.

Earlier in the night, police said Sophia Valdes was missing from the 3200 block of Vincent Road in West Palm Beach.

Police spokesman Mike Jachles said that shortly after 11 p.m. detectives from the West Palm Beach Police Department received information that led to the safe return of the missing child.

Jachles said that deputies with the Broward Sheriff's Office assisted police and located the child with two adults at a gas station in the 2600 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park.

Police said that the Florida Department of Children and Families was requested to respond to the case.

It's unclear if anyone will face charges.
