TEQUESTA, Fla. (AP) - The Latest on the killing of a couple by an attacker caught biting the dead man's face (all times local):
6:40 p.m.
A Florida man who tried to stop a teenager accused of killing his neighbors during a random knife attack told a 911 dispatcher he had "no idea" who the assailant was.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office released a tape Tuesday of the call 47-year-old Jeff Fisher made during the attack Monday night. He told the dispatcher he was bleeding heavily from the stab wounds that 19-year-old suspect Austin Harrouff allegedly inflicted on him. He said the assailant had attacked a woman, who was lying motionless in her driveway.
Detectives say 59-year-old John Stevens and his 53-year-old wife, Michelle Mishcon, died in the attack.
Sheriff William Snyder says Harrouff's condition has deteriorated and may not survive. Snyder said earlier that he suffered cuts, bruises and dog bites after deputies had to use a stun gun and a police dog to help pull him off the Stevens as he mauled Steven's face with his teeth.

A Florida sheriff is reporting the worsening condition of a 19-year-old accused of fatally stabbing a husband and wife and then trying to bite the man's face off in a random attack.
Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said late Tuesday that Austin Harrouff may not survive.
Harrouff has been hospitalized under guard and under sedation. Snyder said earlier that he suffered cuts, bruises and dog bites after deputies had to use a stun gun and a police dog to help pull him off the victim
Snyder also said autopsy results show John Stevens died of stab wounds and blunt force trauma. He said the autopsy on his wife, Michelle Mishcon, had not been completed. The couple was attacked Monday night, and a neighbor who tried to save them suffered stab wounds before deputies reached the scene.

The teenager charged with fatally stabbing a couple at their Florida home in an apparently random attack was known for not playing aggressively on his high school football team.
Quarterback Matt Dame told The Palm Beach Post that coaches at Suncoast Community High School would try to get 19-year-old Austin Harrouff to play angry, but "he never had it in him." Harrouff played defensive line and wrestled at the school before graduating in 2015.

A neighbor says the Florida couple killed in an apparently random attack were friendly and outgoing, and she's not surprised that another neighbor tried to save them.
Amy Lourie said Tuesday that 53-year-old Michelle Mishcon and 59-year-old John Stevens would sit in the garage of their Tequesta home with the door up while watching television. They would wave and talk to neighbors as they watched their Labrador retriever play in the yard. They and their dog would drive around the neighborhood in a golf cart and chat.
She said "it would be typical" for neighbor Jeff Fisher to try to rescue them. Fisher's father, Steve Fisher, told WPTV-TV his son suffered a stab wound to the neck, three to his back and one to his side. He is expected to recover.

Authorities in Florida have identified the man they say fatally stabbed a couple in a random attack outside their home and wounded a neighbor who tried to save them.
Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said Tuesday that deputies captured 19-year-old Florida State University student Austin Harrouff as he was biting the dead man's face in their driveway in Tequesta, an affluent coastal community north of Palm Beach.
Snyder said Harrouff has no criminal record and may have been on hallucinogenic drugs when he attacked the couple late Monday. They're running tests for multiple substances.
The sheriff says the neighbor who tried to intervene was stabbed and has been hospitalized with "substantial trauma" but is expected to survive.

Authorities in Florida say a man who may have been on a hallucinogenic drug fatally stabbed a married couple, biting off part of the man's face before wounding a would-be rescuer.
Martin County Sheriff William Snyder told reporters Tuesday that a man in his 20s may have been on drugs when he attacked the couple at their Tequesta home late Monday and the neighbor who tried to stop him. Authorities were still trying to confirm the suspect's identity.
Snyder said deputies found the man on top of the dead husband and it took several attempts to pull him off. The names of the victims haven't been released. Snyder said the neighbor is hospitalized with "substantial trauma."
Snyder said deputies are also searching for a 26-year-old woman associated with the suspect, saying she might also be a victim.
