Bomb threat at Miami Department of Children and Families

UPDATE--Both scenes have been cleared and reopened to traffic.

UPDATE -- Police are following up on a possible lead related to the bomb threat. 

They've shut down roads at Southeast 8th Street and Brickell Avenue, which is just over a mile away from the initial scene.

As of 7:20 p.m., Northwest 1st-2nd Avenue between Northwest 3rd-5th Street was still closed. K-9 officers are still searching the area.

UPDATE -- The U.S. Post Office and Miami Police Department were also evacuated. People have been let back into the Police department and Children's Courthouse.

MIAMI, Fla -- Police are investigating a bomb threat the the Department of Children and Families in Miami. According to our Miami Fox affiliate, WSVN, the threat was deemed credible and was made against a state employee who worked in the building.

Miami Fire-Rescue arrived on the scene at 401 Northwest 2nd Avenue at about 3:15 p.m., WSVN reports. The building houses DCF and several other state agencies. Both DCF and the Miami-Dade Children's Courthouse have been evacuated.
