DORAL, Fla. (AP) - Police have arrested two people suspected of slashing a woman's tires and following her in an attempt to rob her.
Miami-Dade police spokeswoman Robin Pinkard tells media outlets that officials arrested 36-year-old Cesar Castillo Vargas and 46-year-old Hernan Trujillo last week while they were investigating an unrelated incident.
According to an arrest report, a detective saw one of the men puncture a woman's tire while she was inside a bank in Doral. After withdrawing money, the woman got into her car and drove away with the suspects following her. Investigators believe the suspects wanted to steal from the victim by making her vulnerable.
Detectives later pulled over the suspects, who they say provided false identification. They were booked on charges including criminal mischief, loitering or prowling and displaying false identification. It's unclear if they have attorneys.
