SARASOTA, Fla. - A truck carrying dead pig carcasses on I-75 in Sarasota has caused some major delays on I-75 in Sarasota after some of the carcasses fell off of the truck and into traffic.
The northbound lanes on I-75 near the Fruitville Road exit were affected. As of 9 a.m., the right northbound lane was blocked and the center lane was partially blocked due to the mess.
First reports of lane blockage came into FHP just after 8 a.m.
Traffic is moving very slowly.
Crews are on scene cleaning up the roadway, and lanes are expected to reopen shortly.
**UPDATE** -- FHP reports all lanes have reopened, as of around 10:30 a.m.
