TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - A Florida Panhandle podiatrist has been sentenced to life in prison for beating and drowning his estranged wife.

The Tallahassee Democrat (https://goo.gl/iEhEpu ) reports that 49-year-old Adam Frasch was sentenced Thursday after a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder.

Authorities say Samira Frasch's body was found by a maintenance man at the bottom of her home's swimming pool in February 2014.

Shortly before her death, Samira Frasch had filed for divorce and been given temporary custody of the couple's daughters and their Tallahassee home.
