An man is accused of cutting of kittens' tails after a fight with their owners. Marion County deputies say that he got in a verbal altercation with their owner's husband.

The man, James Steele Reid is from Anthony. It happened on Monday at the farm where the owner's husband volunteers. The owner told him not to touch the five, four-week old kittens.

Deputies say Reid then grabbed a pair of garden scissors and iodine and told a co-worker he was going to cut of the kittens' tails. He told a witness he wanted the owner to "look at those cats and think of him." Soon after, deputies say a witness saw Reid exit the barn with the kittens' tails.

Reid has been arrested and is charged  with animal cruelty. He posted his $2,000 bond Monday night.
