DELAND, Fla. -- Officials say an 87-year-old man has been bitten by an alligator in Volusia County.
The alligator was around 7 to 8 feet long. The animal bit the man at Lake Beresford near Deland on Sunday morning.
The man's hand and leg were bitten, according to the county sheriff's office. When medics brought the man to the hospital, he was alert and conscious. The man's current condition is unclear
His identity has not yet been released.
