THONOTOSASSA, Fla. (AP) - The owner of Lightning RV Supply company says he can't believe the irony after his southwest Florida warehouse was destroyed by lightning.
Brad Green says his employees heard three earth-shaking booms during a storm Monday night. They went outside and found their 25,000 square-foot warehouse on fire. Firefighters poured water from above, but were limited because they feared a steel roof would collapse.
The Tampa Bay Times (http://tinyurl.com/zcqgwzp) reports employees were wearing shirts with the company's lightning bolt logo as they sifted through the rubble later from the warehouse that carried RV parts and camping supplies. The building and its contents were a total loss. No one was injured in the fire.
Authorities confirmed at least one lightning strike made a direct hit on the warehouse.
