POLK COUNTY, Fla.-- This is not something you see everyday, crews rescued a hang glider pilot who was stuck in a tree in Polk County.
Polk County Fire Rescue post these photos on their Facebook page. The hang glider crashed into a swamp on Sunday, June 30th, 2019. Crews and witnesses spotted the hang glider's pilot dangling 30 feet in the air on a cypress tree.
Fire and Rescue first responders were eventually able to safely bring the hang glider pilot down. In just under 2 hours, Polk Fire Rescue was able to respond to the call, bring the hang glider pilot back to the ground, get him a medical evaluation, and get him to the hospital.
