Posted

FORT MYERS, Fla.—The Fort Myers Police Department has opened a new substation in the city, which will continue to strengthen its presence within the community.

It is located at the Dream Center, on Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard. New substations were among several recommendations listed in an audit into the police department.

Police Chief Derrick Diggs says this is another step, towards restoring the community's trust.
This is just one of at least four planned substations the department is building in Fort Myers.
