Former pro racer dead in Sarasota bike crash

SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a professional motorcycle racer died and his passenger was seriously injured in a bike crash in southwest Florida.

Sarasota police reported in a news release that 27-year-old Michael Corbino of Longboat Key lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons and hit a curb on Sunday night.

Corbino died at the scene. His passenger, 22-year-old Jasmine Fraser, was hospitalized in critical condition.

The single-vehicle crash is under investigation.

Corbino is a former American Motorcyclist Association pro racer.
