TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida legislators are failing yet again to reach an agreement on a comprehensive gambling bill.
Legislative leaders announced late Friday that the House and Senate would end their annual session without passing any legislation.
State legislators have had trouble the last few years passing a gambling bill due to squabbles among different gambling interests. There was a renewed interest in passing a bill this year because a constitutional amendment on casinos goes before voters this fall.
Gambling is technically illegal in Florida, but it's allowed at casinos owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and it's also allowed at dog and horse tracks scattered throughout the state.
Legislators considered several different proposals this year including one that would have allowed the Seminoles to add craps and roulette at their casinos.
