PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) - A Florida high school student is accused of bringing a knife into a classroom to settle a dispute with another student.

The 18-year-old girl was arrested Tuesday at William T. Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens.

The Palm Beach Post reports the girl told police the other student had made remarks about her dead grandmother. Police said she swore and hurled threats at the student until the teacher intervened. The teen was arrested on charges of possession of a weapon on school property and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A judge ordered her to be released on in-house arrest and to wear an ankle monitor.

The other student told police he had confronted the girl and had been trying to get her to threaten him.
