Scott supports Trump, but won't run with him

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida Gov. Rick Scott is a big supporter of likely Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, but he says he's not going to join him on the ticket.

Scott's name has been floated around as a possible vice presidential running mate for Trump. The Republican governor knows the businessman and part-time resident of Florida and has been urging the GOP to rally around him for weeks.

But in recent days, Scott has said he has no interest in running with him. He repeated that again during a Wednesday interview on CNN. Scott said he was "going to pass" even if Trump personally asked him to run for vice president.

Scott, who was re-elected to a second term in 2014, said "I'm going to stay in this job and finish this job."
