GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A University of Florida student and Air Force ROTC cadet has died after collapsing at a track on campus.

University spokesman Steve Orlando says 18-year-old Landon Rogers of Gainesville was a freshman who had not yet chosen a major.

Maj. Brad Barber, a spokesman for the university police department, says Rogers was at the Percy Beard Track early Thursday for an ROTC physical fitness test.

Barber says Rogers collapsed while running. Emergency personnel took Rogers to a hospital, where he died.

Barber says a cause of death has not been determined.

The Gainesville Sun (http://bit.ly/1lyy9WK ) reports that Rogers graduated from Eastside High School, where he had played football and lacrosse.
