Florida father accused of shooting 4-year-old son

LEESBURG, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man is accused of shooting his 4-year-old son.
    
Leesburg police Lt. Joe Iozzi told news outlets that police were called to the neighborhood early Wednesday after reports of gunshots. Officers found a vehicle with two bullet holes in front of the home.
    
A short time later, 24-year-old Herbert James came out of the house. Iozzi said James was appeared intoxicated and was uncooperative with officers. He went back into the house and officers heard gunshots a few minutes later.
    
Iozzo said officers entered the home and found the child in his mother's arms. He was struck in the upper torso and is expected to survive.
    
James is accused of aggravated child abuse. Jail records don't list a lawyer.
