WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Florida sheriff's deputy is facing multiple charges relating to child pornography.
The Palm Beach Post reports Palm Beach Sheriff's Deputy Kurt J. Castaldo was arrested Wednesday following an investigation of a tip that an unknown user on a social media site had uploaded five images showing minors in sex acts.
The tip came from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which operated "cyber tip" lines.
A sheriff's report says a search of the IP address on the files led detectives to Castaldo, who was contacted at the sheriff's office. He admitted to search for child porn on his cell phone.
The newspaper reports Castaldo passed a 40-hour course on child sex investigations in December.
Castaldo told a judge during a hearing that he hasn't contacted a lawyer.
