BOCA RATON, Fla. -- A former NFL player, released by the New York Giants last year, faces drug charges.
Preston Lenard Parker of Delray Beach was arrested Thursday night in Boca Raton after he ran a stop sign.
Police say when they tried to stop him he began to swerve in and out of the right lane. During that time police say he was trying to dispose of marijuana and cocaine in his possession.
Parker eventually stopped and was taken into custody.
He’s facing charges of cocaine possession, weapon offense-use display etc., firearm during felony, and evidence destroying, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office booking website.
According to NFL.com, Parker was released from the Giants after "under performing" as a fill in.
He played at Florida State University and for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during his career.
