WINTER PARK, Fla. (AP) - Deputies have arrested a teenager they say stole his mother's vehicle and hit a deputy's bicycle before crashing the car and fleeing.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1SkntYx ) reports deputies arrested the 16-year-old Monday on felony charges including aggravated battery on a police officer and vehicle grand theft.
Seminole County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kristen Bentsen says the deputy spotted the teen getting into the car Monday night in Winter Park. He attempted to pull the car over but the teen wouldn't stop and accelerated the car, hitting the deputy's bicycle. The teen then drove off.
Deputies later found the vehicle crashed into another car. They eventually found the boy who confessed to the incident.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
It isn't clear if the teenager has an attorney.
