13-year-old boy shot while visiting relatives

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A 13-year-old boy is in critical conditional after being shot while visiting relatives in Orlando.

The shooting happened Saturday and authorities say it was accidental.

Orange County Sheriff's spokeswoman Jane Watrel said in a news release that two 18-year-old relatives started playing with a gun after finding it in the bathroom. The gun went off and the boy was hit.

The teen was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Watrel says deputies arrested the gun owner, 35-year-old Walter Morame on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He wasn't home at the time of the shooting. Records don't indicate whether he's hired an attorney.

An investigation is continuing.
