FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.—The Coast Guard seized nearly 10 tons worth of cocaine off the coast of Florida.

Coast Guard crews spent months at sea working to keep these drugs off our streets. Officials say they intercepted 14 different suspected drug smuggling runs. The boats were often loaded with pure, uncut cocaine. In addition to the 10 tons of cocaine, the Coast Guard also returned with more than 50 pounds of heroin.

The Coast Guard says 40 people were arrested during the seizure of the drugs. The drugs have an estimated value of $300 million.
